What is a Sacramento Tweetup like?

Recently, I attended the “Sacramento TweetUp” 1st anniversary at the Sacramento Mikuni’s restaurant in downtown Sacramento.

I spoke with Alejandro Reyes, the founder of SacTweetUp, about giving away Roni Deutch’s tax book as a door prize, as I am her social media coordinator; but unfortunately, he was not accepting door prize or raffle items at this event. He explained that he had turned down others gifts’ as well. He should be having a less social and more business oriented networking event soon and he will keep us posted.

Alas, I was still able to network with friends and new faces at this event and promote the Roni Deutch brand (where I work) as well as explain her businesses. I was able to give my business card to 5 people and chat with about 6 total. It was a loud restaurant with many people so it was difficult to broadcast any information and converse well at times, however, I feel the one-on-one connections were valuable and helped build relationships, old and new. These networking events are great opportunities for new “followers”, “friends” and “fans” for your Twitter and Facebook account(s) as well as a way to let others know or learn about your brand or what you do.

Info about the Sac TweetUp was on KCRA channel 3 news, as well as an article in the Sacramento Bee on Saturday. I hope to get “in” on the interviews next time. A sponsorship would help this, I am sure.
There are also Sponsorship opportunities that would help us create a larger “presence” as well as recognition for at these networking events.

From SacTweetUp.com:
Sponsorship: What are the benefits?
  • Recognition on any event media materials
  • Company name/logo on all promotional event materials, signs, banners, emails and website
  • Option to speak at event & promote business and/or events

Sponsorship costs vary depending on the event. If you would like more information about event sponsorships, contact Alejandro Reyes at (916) 947-2455.
